WATER LEVELS

The Goldilocks Syndrome”…Too high? Too Low? Just right?

Lake levels have fluctuated over the years and continue to do so due to a variety of factors, primarily, unregulated upstream flow from Lac Morrisette, and downstream flow from Lac Long to Petit Lac Long. Other factors such as watersheds from Landrieux, Rochon, Lac du vieux chantier, beaver dams, plugged up culverts and finally, Mother Nature, all contribute to its rise and fall.

We will continue to work with the Municipality as they progress with clearing blockages caused by both beavers and natural occurences including making adjustments to in-flow and  out-flow spillways to ensure a good balance is maintained.

We will be mapping water levels on both Lac Long and Lac Morissette this fall and posting the data on this page in near future.  Stay Tuned !
