Fire safety is a shared responsibility. Staying informed and cautious helps protect our homes, forests, and lakes.
Fire risk levels in Blue Sea can change quickly. Residents are encouraged to:
• Check the daily fire risk level on the SOPFEU website Fire risk in Blue Sea
• Understand the color-coded risk system
• Adjust outdoor activities accordingly, especially campfires
• Be cautious when wind speeds exceed 20 km/h
Colour coded fire danger index
Most municipalities have a large sign with a colour-coded fire risk index.
In Blue Sea, it is located in the park across from the church by Lac Blue Sea.
It is important to stay aware of the changing index, know what the different level mean and the recommended actions.

Local Fire Regulations
The Municipality of Blue Sea has bylaws in place to ensure fire safety, including:
• Safe fire pit placement and construction
• Permit requirements
• Penalties for non-compliance
IMPORTANT: Burning dead leaves or grass is never permitted.
